Chateau Bianca Winery is a family owned and operated winery established in the mid-1980’s. The annual production is intentionally small and committed to high quality, while simultaneously offering an exceptional value. The majority of the production includes Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. There is also a limited production of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Marechal Foch, Chardonnay, Ruby Port, Vin de Glace, and Gluhwein, a hot-spiced wine from an old family recipe.
The Wetzel Family owns and operates the 100-acre winery, vineyard, tasting room and bed and breakfast. Winemaker Andreas Wetzel’s attention to detail consistently results in many prestigious wine awards. Andreas’ great-grandfather began wine production in the region of Wurzburg, Germany. This love of winemaking continues, four generations later, here in the United States.
As demand continues to grow for these premium wines, case production and vineyard acreage have expanded as well. Annual production is limited to 12,000 cases, allowing the maintenance of strict quality control and the opportunity to market these products outside Oregon. With a commitment to quality and value, we have developed an excellent mix of products, certain to satisfy the novice, as well as appeal to those with more eclectic tastes

2006 Riesling
This beautiful wine has peach, apricot and nectarine character that emerge on the palate and continue through to the finish. The crisp acid helps balance the touch of sweetness. I like the rippling acidity in this wine - it reminds me of the qualities that a good riesling should have.
Serve with spicy foods, dishes with fresh fruits, or chill a glass and watch the world go by.

2005 Cellar Select Pinot Noir This is one of my favorites from Chateau Bianca. It has the intense fruit that I have come to expect from this winery and this version, the Cellar Select, mixes weight, texture and gentle acidity - all of which leads to a nicely balanced wine. This is a good example of a West Coast styled pinot.
It pairs well with tuna encrusted with crushed pistachio nuts dipped in wasabi. I also like it with duck and a cherry or cranberry sauce.
